The Nigerian hustle is different. From chasing opportunities and building businesses to surviving traffic, paying bills, finding jobs, creating content, and making something out of nothing — every day comes with its own story.

For months, I had been working on a business idea that I believed could make my company millions. I researched the market, spoke to potential customers and built the financial plan mostly after work and on weekends.
One day, a colleague asked to see what I was working on.
I trusted him and shared everything.
Three weeks later, our CEO called a meeting.
To my shock, my colleague was standing in front of everyone presenting my idea as his own.
My research, my figures, my charts even the name I had created for the project.
The CEO loved it and eventually promoted him.
When I confronted him, he simply said, “We work for the same company. It was a team effort.”
I was angry, but I had one thing he didn't know about: I had kept every original file, draft, research note and spreadsheet.
Months later, when the company was ready to launch the project, management needed the original documents. That was when the truth came out.
The evidence showed that I had developed the entire idea long before my colleague presented it.
The company eventually made me the project manager, increased my salary and gave me a performance bonus.
That experience taught me one thing: never assume people will automatically give you credit for your hard work. Document your contributions and protect your work.
Have you ever had someone take credit for your work? What did you do about it?
