U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States now has “total control” over the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions with Iran.

In a statement, Trump praised the U.S. naval presence in the strategically important waterway, describing the ongoing blockade as a “WALL OF STEEL” and claiming that Iran has little ability to challenge American forces.

According to Trump, Iran’s military capabilities have been severely weakened. He alleged that the country has effectively lost its navy and air force, while claiming that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been “decimated” and that Iran’s remaining soldiers are unpaid.

Trump also painted a bleak picture of Iran’s economic situation, claiming that the country has “No Money” and is suffering from extremely high inflation.

“The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT!” Trump stated.

He further described Iran as the “Bully of the Middle East No Longer,” while declaring that the country is now largely “all talk and no action.”

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most strategically important maritime routes, serving as a major passageway for global oil and gas shipments. Any prolonged disruption in the waterway could therefore have significant consequences for international energy markets.

Trump’s latest remarks signal a continued hard-line position toward Iran and suggest that Washington intends to maintain significant military pressure on Tehran.

However, the claims about the extent of Iran’s military losses and the U.S. level of control over the Strait of Hormuz are assertions from Trump and would require independent verification.
