The Hardest Goodbye
Leaving wasn't a decision made overnight. It came after countless conversations, silent tears, unanswered questions, and repeated attempts to save what we once had. We loved each other deeply, but somewhere along the journey, love stopped feeling like home and started feeling like a battle.
I stayed because I believed things would change. I stayed because I remembered who we used to be. I stayed because my heart kept hoping tomorrow would be better than yesterday. But hope alone couldn't heal the distance that had grown between us.
One day, I realized that holding on was costing me my peace. Love should never make you lose yourself. It should inspire you to grow, not leave you constantly questioning your worth.
So, I chose to leave.
Not because I hated you. Not because I found someone else. I left because I finally understood that sometimes the greatest act of love is letting go. I wanted us both to have the chance to heal, rediscover ourselves, and find the happiness we could no longer give each other.
Walking away hurt more than words can describe. Every memory, every promise, and every dream we built together echoed in my heart. But I carried those memories with gratitude instead of regret.
If our paths ever cross again, I hope we smile, not because we forgot what we had, but because we appreciate what it taught us. Some people come into our lives for a season, leaving behind lessons that shape us forever.
Leaving wasn't the end of love. It was the beginning of choosing peace, growth, and the courage to embrace a new chapter.
