WHEN THE EFFORT BECOMES ONE-SIDED

Relationships are not built by one person alone. It takes two people who are willing to communicate, understand each other, make sacrifices, and put in the effort to make things work.

Sometimes, one person keeps trying to fix everything. They are always the one initiating conversations, apologizing after disagreements, checking in, making plans, and trying to keep the relationship alive. Meanwhile, the other person seems comfortable doing the bare minimum.

The difficult part is that the person who is doing all the work may continue because they genuinely love their partner. They may believe that if they just try a little harder, things will eventually change. But a relationship shouldn't feel like one person is constantly fighting to keep it alive while the other is simply watching.

Love is important, but effort is one of the ways love becomes visible. You shouldn't have to constantly beg someone to care about you, communicate with you, or make you feel valued.

At the same time, relationships go through difficult seasons, and there may be moments when one person carries more responsibility than the other. The real issue is when the imbalance becomes a pattern and only one person is consistently willing to make things work.

So, here's my question please: How long should someone continue fighting for a relationship when they feel like they are the only one putting in the effort?
