Tears Don’t Always Mean She’s Wrong

Just because you got your words out first doesn’t make you right.

Just because she chooses not to throw hurtful words back at you doesn’t mean you won the argument.

And just because she’s crying doesn’t mean she’s wrong.

Do you really think she wants to spend the day with swollen, red eyes? Do you really think she enjoys carrying the weight of words that cut deeper than you intended? Or that she’s crying just to manipulate you into admitting she’s right?

Sometimes, she’s simply hurt.

I’ve never understood why we speak to the people we claim to love as though they’re the enemy. Why say things you know are meant to wound? Words are one of the few things you can never take back. You can apologize, but you can’t erase the memory of how they made someone feel.

Then, moments later, you smile and expect everything to go back to normal.

Not everyone has that luxury.

Some of us replay those words over and over again. We hear them the same way we heard them the first time. We question ourselves. We wonder what we did to deserve them. We carry them long after you’ve forgotten you even said them.

To you, it wasn’t that big of a deal.

To her, it was everything.

Sometimes it’s not just the words. it was your tone. The way you said them. The anger behind them. The ease with which they came out.

And somehow, because you were angry, you felt justified.

Maybe you were.

Or maybe you just forgot that the person standing in front of you deserved kindness too.

But who am I to say?

I’m just a woman.

Another Faithful Sleep Training Attempt… Failed. 😂

Just when we thought she had finally settled into a routine, this little girl reminded me who’s really in charge.

It’s 12:00 a.m., and she’s wide awake cooing, smiling, kicking her legs, and living her absolute best life while the I am negotiating with sleep.

I even attempted the famous “cry it out” method but her cries had me convinced the neighbors were about to call someone. 😭 The way this tiny human was wailing, I couldn’t do it.

I want to be annoyed because I have so many things I want to do. I need to read, catch up on sleep, scroll through social media, and just have a little time to myself.

Then I look at the tiny person responsible for all this chaos.

She has absolutely no idea she’s keeping me awake. She’s just fascinated by everything, my phone, my face, my hands, basically anything she can grab. She’s having the time of her life, and somehow I’ve become her favorite late-night entertainment.

At some point, you just sigh and accept defeat. 😂

Whenever Madam decides she’s ready to sleep, I guess that’s when I’ll get some sleep too.

Motherhood is one of those things you can never fully explain until you experience it yourself. It’s exhausting, overwhelming, and sometimes you wonder how you’re functioning on so little sleep.

Then, out of nowhere, she gives me the sweetest little hug.

And just like that, my heart melts. 🥹

Suddenly, the sleepless night doesn’t seem quite as bad.

We’ll try sleep training again, another night.

Overstimulated

Motherhood is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received, but no one really prepares you for how many emotions can exist at the same time.

One minute, I’m completely happy. The next, I’m overwhelmed.

Sometimes I find myself asking questions I never thought I would:
Am I a bad person? Am I a bad mum? Am I taking on more than I can handle? Was I really ready for this?

Life doesn’t stop changing just because you’ve become a parent. In fact, it feels like the changes come even faster, and some days I wonder if I’ll ever truly catch up.

Then I look at my little one.

For a moment, everything else fades into the background. The tiredness, the doubts, the overstimulation, the endless to-do lists… they all become quieter. The love is so real that it reminds me why I keep showing up, even on the hardest days.

Maybe motherhood isn’t about having all the answers. Maybe it’s about loving deeply while learning every single day.

So if today feels heavy, I’ll give myself grace, hold my baby a little tighter, and try again tomorrow.

I guess I’m still learning and maybe that’s okay.
