I swear I’m not a hater. But can we talk?
Every time I open Instagram, someone is at the airport. If it’s not “UK bound 🇬🇧,” it’s “Canada, here I come 🇨🇦.” Timeline full of visa approvals, winter jackets and “God did it” captions.
And I get it. With everything happening under Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms — high cost of living, fuel prices, the naira doing backflips — people just want a better life. Nobody wants to struggle.
But sometimes it feels like staying back in Nigeria is now a crime. Like if you’re still here, you missed an important meeting.
Truth is, not everyone abroad is living soft life. Some are hustling twice as hard. We just don’t see that part.
So no, I’m not a hater. If you have the chance to relocate, go for it. I just think we should stop making it look like Nigeria is a lost cause and everyone here is unserious.
