I am not a hater but I want Arsenal ending the season with zero trophies in their cabinet!

As a proud Chelsea fan, I’ve learned to live with the highs and lows of football. We’ve had our glory years, our rebuilds, and our painful moments. But right now, in this 2025/26 season, there’s one thing that would genuinely put a smile on my face: watching Arsenal finish with zero trophies in their cabinet.

Let me be clear, I’m not a hater. I respect the project at Arsenal. Arteta has done an impressive job turning them from also-rans into genuine title challengers. They play attractive football, have a solid squad, and their fans… well, they’re passionate. But here’s the thing: rivalries are rivalries, and as a Chelsea supporter, seeing our North London neighbours lift silverware is about as appealing as watching paint dry on a rainy Stamford Bridge afternoon.

Yesterday, when Manchester City beat us 3-0, I wasn’t devastated. In fact, I was quietly happy. Those three points for City? They were a beautiful gift. Because right now, every point City gains is a dagger in Arsenal’s title hopes. I’m fully invested in the narrative where City keep grinding out results and Arsenal stumble at the crucial moments.

And yes I’m already looking forward to Arsenal’s next Premier League game against Manchester City. A loss for the Gunners there would be perfect. It would widen the gap, pile on the pressure, and keep that familiar feeling of “nearly there but not quite” alive for another season.

Why Zero Trophies Would Feel So Good

Arsenal fans have been talking about “this is our year” for a while now. They came close in previous seasons, only to fall short in the final stretch. There’s something poetic about a team that builds so much hype, invests heavily, and still ends up empty-handed while their rivals (hello, Chelsea and others) at least fight for something.

I want them to finish second or third, respectable, but trophyless. No Premier League title. No FA Cup. No Champions League glory. Just another season of “what ifs” and excuses. The memes would be glorious. The banter would write itself.

Don’t get me wrong I’d love Chelsea to win something this season too. But if we can’t, then at least let the Arsenal trophy cabinet stay as empty as it’s been in recent years. It keeps the balance in North London and gives us all something to laugh about.

The Bottom Line

Football is about passion, loyalty, and yes a healthy dose of rivalry. So while I wish Arsenal all the best in their individual player careers and hope they continue to develop young talent, when it comes to collective success this season…

I’m sorry (not sorry), Arsenal. I want you to end with zero trophies.

Come on Chelsea. And come on City do the needful against Arsenal too.
