Femi and Sade had been together for three years. Everyone around them thought they were going to get married soon. They were supportive, playful and deeply in love.

One evening, Femi came home, as he opened the door to his bedroom, he walked into a scene that stopped his heart. There, on the bed, was his girlfriend Sade with his close friend, Kunle. Both of them were in only their underwear.

Femi froze. His chest tightened. Words failed him.

“What is this?” he stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief and betrayal.

Sade quickly jumped up. “Wait, Femi! It’s not what you think!”

Kunle also got up, trying to explain, but Femi had already picked up his car key and stormed out, shaking with anger and confusion.

A few minutes later, they called him back. Sade, still catching her breath, showed him a hidden camera in the corner of the room and played the footage. It was all a setup; a prank she and Kunle had planned to “test his reaction.”

In the video, she was laughing, whispering instructions, setting everything up. They thought it would be funny. They thought he would laugh too.

But Femi didn’t laugh.

He watched the whole thing silently. Then he looked at Sade and said calmly, “You think love is a joke? That three years of trust is something to gamble with for views or laughter?”

Sade’s face fell. “Femi, I’m sorry. It was just a prank. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Femi shook his head. “If you could humiliate me like that even in private, you don’t respect me and if there’s no respect, there’s no relationship.”

He walked away that night from their relationship and never looked back.

To her, it was a joke that went too far.

To him, it was the moment everything real turned fake and just like that, three years ended with a hidden camera and a broken heart.
