Adanna and Adaugo were identical twins inseparable since birth. They did everything together, even wore matching clothes until their teenage years. As they grew older, life began to stretch them in different directions.
Adanna was the quieter one, deeply rooted in faith, reserved and patient. She met Somadina at a youth conference and after two years of courtship and prayers, they got married. Their love seemed pure. Everyone admired how they waited on God.
Adaugo, on the other hand, was adventurous and free-spirited. She visited her sister often, helped around the house and had a close bond with Somadina a little too close.
Adanna had no idea that while she was trusting her husband and sister, the two were crossing boundaries in secret. It started as emotional connection harmless jokes, long conversations when Adanna wasn’t around and then one night changed everything. Somadina and Adaugo fell into temptation, one mistake turned into a hidden affair that lasted months.
Then came the shock: both sisters became pregnant just weeks apart. Adana was overjoyed. She believed her prayers for a child had finally been answered after years of waiting. While Adaugo was torn. Guilt tore through her every night. She tried to cut Somadina off, but he begged her to keep quiet for the sake of peace.
Everything exploded during a family dinner when their mother asked jokingly, “You two planned to get pregnant together, didn’t you?” The room went cold.
Adaugo couldn’t hold it anymore. With tears in her eyes, she confessed.
“I’m pregnant and it’s Somadina, I’m sorry, Adanna.”
The silence was deafening. Adanna looked at her husband, hoping it was a lie. But he bowed his head and confirmed it.
Adanna felt like the floor gave way under her. Her own husband. Her own twin sister. The betrayal was unbearable. For weeks, she locked herself in and she clung to God. One night in prayer, she heard in her spirit:
“I will fight for you, but you must let Me heal you.”
She decided to separate from Somadina, not out of hate, but to find her healing. Adaugo, filled with regret, left town to raise her child alone.
Years passed Adanna, still raising her son in peace, learned to forgive. Not because it was easy, but because her heart needed to be free. She became a counselor to women going through betrayal, using her story as a testimony of healing and divine justice.
As for Somadina and Adaugo, their secret romance didn’t last. Their relationship collapsed under guilt and distrust. They found redemption in time, though it came with many scars.
