For 25 years, Rose believed in love , a love she had nurtured with Tom, the man she married in her early twenties. Their union had weathered storms, celebrated milestones and was, to the outside world, a picture of resilience and lasting commitment.
To mark their silver jubilee, Tom planned something special a romantic weekend to a breathtaking location, It felt like a fairy tale, but Rose couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Tom seemed distant at moments, lost in thought. When she asked if he was okay, he smiled and told her not to worry. She brushed it aside, not wanting to spoil their moment.
When they returned, Tom announced he had a two months business trip to attend. Rose kissed him goodbye, completely unaware that life as she knew it was about to crumble.
A week into his supposed trip, Rose got a call from her sister that she saw Tom in the mall and she sent a picture. Rose called her husband and he said he was in a meeting that he will return her call later. She was confused and decided to go to the mall to see for herself.
Rose met with her sister in the mall and they went to confront Tom, there he was not by himself but with another woman and a child, laughing and holding hands like a picture-perfect family.
Rose voice calm but firm. “Tom, what are you doing here? I thought you were on a business trip.”
The other woman, stunned by the confrontation, asked, “Who is this?”
Rose turned to her and said, “I’m his wife. We’ve been married for 25 years.”
The woman gasped. “What? He told me he was divorced! We’re getting married next month. This is his child.”
Tom stood frozen, the truth unraveling before him.
Rose didn’t cry. Instead, she simply told him “Don’t come back home. My lawyer will be in touch. I want a divorce.”
