Her Delayed Answer Ended Their Engagement

It was supposed to be just another cozy evening for Sunday and Lisa. The couple, engaged and weeks away from tying the knot, were watching a movie together a touching story about a woman battling cancer and the man who stood by her side.

Midway through the film, Sunday, moved by the emotional weight of the scene, turned to Lisa and casually asked, “If the table was turned, would you stick with me?”

Her response came but not immediately. There was a long, heavy silence.

“She didn’t answer for a while,” Sunday recalls. “Then she finally said, ‘I’d have to think about it, because it depends on many factors.’”

That moment changed everything for him.

“Call me dramatic, but if you’re about to marry someone, shouldn’t loyalty especially in hard times, be automatic?” Sunday said.

He admitted it might seem like a small thing to others, but to him, it was a major red flag. “It wasn’t just the words, it was the hesitation. The silence said more than her answer.”

The next day, Sunday called off the wedding.

“I’d rather deal with the heartbreak now than stand at the altar wondering if she’d walk away when life gets hard,” he added.
