Mr. Tom was a man of humble beginnings, no formal education, no fancy degrees but what he lacked in certificates, he made up for in wisdom, determination and an unshakable love for his family. He worked tirelessly as a businessman, often sacrificing his own comfort just to see his wife smile and his children thrive.

He believed in his wife, even when she didn’t believe in herself. He paid her way through university, cheering her on at every graduation. When she dreamed of a Master’s degree abroad, he sold part of his business shares to fund her dream. Not once did he complain. Love, to him, was about sacrifice.

She returned home accomplished, glowing with new opportunities. With his support, she landed a prestigious job at one of the biggest companies in the country. Mr. Tom couldn’t have been prouder, his wife was living the life he always wanted for her. He gave her everything: his time, his heart, his resources and unconditional love.

But two days ago, everything changed.

Mrs. Tom didn’t come home. Worried, Mr. Tom called repeatedly, only to receive a cold, detached text:

“I want a divorce. You can keep the kids.”

That was it. No explanation. No goodbye. Just silence.

Days passed. Mr. Tom couldn’t eat. He couldn’t sleep. The love of his life had vanished without a trace and he had no idea why. Driven by confusion and heartbreak, he went to her workplace, hoping for clarity, maybe even closure.

But what he found shattered him.

His wife wasn’t missing. She was in love, just not with him. She was having an affair with her manager.

Mr. Tom stood there, in the lobby of that grand company he once helped her reach, trying to hold together the pieces of a heart that had loved too deeply, given too selflessly and trusted too completely.
