Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has pledged increased support for local vigilante groups following a deadly bandit attack in Alkaleri Local Government Area. The attack on Kafin Duguri and Gwana communities reportedly left four people dead after gunmen stormed the area on over one hundred motorcycles. During a sympathy visit, the governor praised vigilantes for preventing wider destruction and assured victims that the state government would cover medical bills for the injured. He also called for urgent federal intervention, noting that security agencies require more logistics and weapons to tackle rising criminal threats in affected communities. The governor disclosed that he had briefed President Bola Tinubu on the incident, with assurances of federal collaboration to strengthen security operations in Bauchi State.
