Yesterday, I presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill of N897.9bn to the Katsina State House of Assembly, the most participatory and people-focused budget ever in our state’s history.
Themed “Building Your Future III,” the budget reflects the voices of over 71,000 citizens across 316 wards, ensuring that every project, programme, and initiative is driven by the real and unique needs and aspirations of our people.
Here is the breakdown of the Priority areas:
Education — N156.3bn (highest)
Works & Housing — N117.1bn
Agriculture — N78.6bn
Health — N67.5bn
Water Resources — N62.8bn
Environment — N53.8bn.
With over 80% allocated to capital projects, this budget focuses on infrastructure, education, health and community development, thereby creating opportunities and improving lives across all local governments.
We will continue to strengthen security, agriculture and youth empowerment, while maintaining fiscal discipline and transparency in governance.
I sincerely thank the Katsina State House of Assembly for their partnership and urge for the swift passage of this budget, a roadmap that will improve community-driven governance and build a stronger, secure and more prosperous Katsina.
