Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba is facing a fresh internal crisis over control of its state secretariat. A 16 member caretaker committee ordered the dissolved State Working Committee to vacate the party office or face legal action.

The caretaker chairman said continued occupation of the secretariat after dissolution is illegal and urged members to support rebuilding efforts to stabilise the party structure in the state.

In a related development, party leaders also dismissed rumours that the PDP could be deregistered by Independent National Electoral Commission, describing the claims as false and politically motivated. They warned that such misinformation has already triggered defections in some rural areas.
