El-Rufai's House Of Horrors

ICPC said it recovered devices believed to be used for intercepting phone conversations, along with classified security documents, from the Abuja residence of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai .

The commission claimed that during the search operations, the commission retrieved electronic magnetic equipment allegedly capable of tapping conversations. According to ICPC, multiple laptops among the items taken, including Apple MacBook Pro and Elumac Book Pro models, mobile phones including Blackberry, Nokia N95, Toshiba, Samsung IDEOS, Google IDEOS, and 18 other mobile devices were seized.

But El-Rufai's family immediately fired back with fury. Hadiza Isma, wife of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, dismissed allegations by the ICPC that wiretapping devices were discovered during a search of their residence. Mr Mpigi passed away at the age of 64 after a prolonged illness. Until his death, Mr Mpigi served as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Works. With his passing, Mr Mpigi becomes the fourth senator to die since the inauguration of the 10th Senate in June 2023 .

He defected from PDP to APC shortly before his death, presumably to secure his political future. And now he's gone, leaving behind the question: what was it all for?

Six members of the House of Representatives from Osun State formally declared their movement from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Accord Party during a stakeholders' gathering held in Osogbo on Monday. These weren't backbenchers. These were prominent federal lawmakers abandoning PDP en masse.

But that was just the federal level. At the state level, the exodus was even more devastating. The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, and 24 other lawmakers have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party .

With the defection of the 25 PDP lawmakers, including the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, to Accord, the 26-member Osun Assembly is left with Mr Femi Popoola, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, as the only opposition lawmaker in the House .

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Sunday Bisi, has declared that the party's entire structure will support and work for the second-term emergence of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Bisi said he would not be joining Adeleke in Accord Party; however, he noted that the governor had been endorsed ahead of the poll. "I have not decamped to any political party. I remain the PDP Chairman in Osun State, and my tenure subsists till 2027. However, the entire structure of the PDP in Osun is behind Governor Ademola Adeleke".
