The internal tension within the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has taken a new twist following the resignation of Sultan Ahmed Bello as Acting National Youth Leader of the party.

“I hereby resign from my position as Acting National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective immediately.”

Reason for Resignation

In the resignation letter addressed to Hon. Nafi’u Bala Gombe, Bello said his decision was influenced by persistent insults and hostile attacks on social media over his association with Gombe’s faction.

He also claimed that some of the attacks included harmful prayers directed at him and his family, adding that he could no longer ignore the situation.

A Sign of Deeper Division

The resignation reflects the growing pressure within the ADC as rival factions continue to battle for control and legitimacy.

Bello’s exit also shows how the crisis is no longer limited to legal filings and congress disputes. It is now affecting individuals within the party structure.
