President Bola Tinubu will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties after ending his vacation earlier than scheduled, News360 Nigeria reports.

This was confirmed in a statement on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties,” the statement read.

Tinubu had departed Nigeria for France on September 4, 2025, to spend part of his annual holiday, with plans to also visit the United Kingdom.

While in Paris, he held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where both leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties for mutual prosperity and global stability.

This marks Tinubu’s seventh visit to Paris since assuming office in May 2023 and his first international trip since attending the BRICS summit in Brazil and the TICAD9 summit in Japan earlier this year.

In the first nine months of 2025, Tinubu has undertaken 15 international trips across 11 countries, attending high-level summits, bilateral meetings, state visits, and inaugurations.

His diplomatic engagements this year have included the inauguration of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in Accra, the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit in the UAE, the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit in Tanzania, and the African Union Summit in Ethiopia.

In April, Tinubu embarked on a two-week working visit to France and the UK. In May, he attended the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV in Rome, followed by a state visit to Saint Lucia, where he addressed CARICOM leaders, and later participated in the BRICS Summit in Brazil.

The President also attended the Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Japan in August, engaging Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on maritime security and digital infrastructure.

His September vacation marked his third visit to Paris this year and his second to London.
