Murphy Osaro Omoruyi Defects to ADC

The member representing Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Murphy Osaro Omoruyi, has defected to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Addressing journalists in Benin City, the lawmaker declared that his decision to become a member of the ADC coalition was followed his resignation from the Labour Party.

My joining the ADC coalition today is sequel to my resignation from the Labour Party in a letter to my ward chairman, Ward 10, Egor Local Government Area, on the 30th of December, 2025, which has since been accepted,” he stated.

While noting that he has remained a loyal and committed member of the Labour Party, the lawmaker stated that it has been practically impossible for him to remain in the LP due to the intractable crisis rocking the party.

Hon. Omoruyi pledged his commitment to work with leaders of ADC, coalition partners, and other stakeholders to advance the cause of good governance and effective representation.

He reaffirmed his unwavering support for his constituents, noting that their trust remains his guiding principle.

Hon. Omoruyi added that his defection is taken to better serve their interests and secure a brighter future for them.
