‎According to a report by Leadership, on Monday March 30, 2026, Mr Laja Adeoye, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Lagos State, has pledged to end the long-standing rule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections, stating that the era of APC governance in Lagos was over with his entry into the race.

‎Adeoye stated that Lagosians are tired of successive APC-led administrations and are ready for a fresh start and described himself as the face of a new beginning and said he is ready to provide transformative leadership that will move the state forward.

‎He explained that he wants to offer a credible and people-centered alternative, Adeoye said his leadership will focus on practical solutions to housing shortages, traffic congestion, unemployment, and other pressing issues and highlighted his experience as a real estate entrepreneur as part of his ability to deliver results.

‎Adeoye stated that he is building support across Lagos through alliances with groups like Lagos for Prosperity and the Inter-Party Advisory Council and added that youths, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and disillusioned residents are rallying behind his campaign.

‎He outlined his agenda for Lagos State, which will focus on education, security, healthcare, housing, and economic diversification, Adeoye promised to reform the civil service by improving training, efficiency, and reward systems.

‎He stated that Lagos will become a business-friendly destination with clear policies, incentives, and improved infrastructure to attract foreign investment and stressed that prosperity under his administration will be inclusive, benefiting all residents and not just a few.

‎"I will terminate the long reign of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state in the 2027 elections through strategic alliances, like the strong backing from the Lagos for Prosperity Group and galvanising groups like Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), and others committed groups, we are building momentum across youths, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and disillusioned residents," he said.
