The ongoing clash between social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), Davido, Zlatan Ibile and Carter Efe appears to have its roots in the Justice for Mohbad campaign.

VDM recently alleged that members of Davido's DMW crew were involved in a WhatsApp group where his arrest was allegedly discussed in 2024, while he was demanding answers over Mohbad's death. He said discovering the conversations in 2025 made him feel betrayed, especially because he considered Davido a friend. However, Davido's associate, Israel DMW, has denied the singer's involvement.

The disagreement with Zlatan also resurfaced after a controversial lyric in INFERNO, featuring Zlatan, Peruzzi and Shoday, was interpreted as a reference to VDM. Davido's public support for Zlatan further angered the activist.

Meanwhile, Carter Efe joined the controversy by defending the music stars, leading to a heated exchange with VDM, including disturbing comments about VDM's mother.

What started as questions surrounding Mohbad's death has now developed into a wider battle involving friendship, loyalty, celebrity influence and public accountability.

But who is really wrong in this situation?
