In the latest incident, a police officer was seen firing a gun into the air during a confrontation with road safety personnel. Sources indicate that the clash arose from disputes over traffic rules and jurisdiction.

According to eyewitnesses, the altercation escalated on a busy road when the police officer and FRSC officials began arguing. In response to the rising tension, the police officer reportedly retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired it into the air, apparently because the road safety officers “no wan gree for am” — refusing to yield or back down.

While this incident has drawn attention to police misconduct, some members of the public have also criticized the FRSC officers for often making things difficult for road users, citing unnecessary demands and checks that can slow down traffic and create tension.
