Popular Nigerian socialite and businessman, Cubana Chiefpriest, has finally reacted to the backlash trailing his political stance, especially following criticisms from activist VeryDarkMan.

The celebrity barman was recently called out for openly supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite the continued detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Many social media users, particularly from the Southeast, felt he should use his influence to speak up more strongly against Kanu’s incarceration.

Responding to the criticism, Cubana Chiefpriest made it clear that supporting an opposition party would not help Nnamdi Kanu’s situation. According to him, “I no fit help Nnamdi Kanu from opposition,” stressing that being outside the ruling party limits one’s ability to influence sensitive national matters.

He explained that aligning with the party in power gives him better access to leaders and decision-makers who can actually make changes. From his perspective, staying close to those in authority is more practical than protesting from the sidelines.

VeryDarkMan, who initially called him out, maintained that celebrities and influencers should use their platforms to stand firmly with the people, especially on issues affecting their region. He questioned whether loyalty to a political party should come before justice and human rights.
