*About the Role*
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our credit and lending team. The ideal candidate will evaluate loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and ensure efficient loan disbursement and recovery.

*Key Responsibilities*
·      Source, evaluate, and process loan applications from individuals and SMEs.
·      Conduct credit assessments and verify borrower information through background and financial checks.
·      Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of loan documentation in line with company and regulatory standards.
·      Recommend loan approvals or rejections based on risk assessment and credit scoring.
·      Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and portfolio growth.
·      Monitor loan performance, track repayments, and manage delinquent accounts effectively.
·      Work closely with the treasury, finance, and recovery teams to maintain portfolio quality.
·      Generate and present periodic reports on loan performance, disbursements, and collections.
·      Keep up to date with lending regulations, market conditions, and competitor products

*Qualifications & Requirements*
·      Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
·      3 –5 years of proven experience as a Loan Officer, Credit Analyst, or Relationship Officer (preferably within a microfinance, fintech, or commercial banking institution).
·      Strong understanding of credit evaluation, loan documentation, and compliance processes.
·      Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and CRM/loan management software.
·      Self-motivated and capable of working independently under minimal supervision
