Risk Officer - Microfinance Bank

About the role

Our client a Microfinance Bank in Lagos is looking to hire a Risk Officer to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate credit, operational, and enterprise risks to protect the bank’s financial stability and regulatory standing.

Key Responsibilities

Implement the bank’s risk management framework and policies.

Conduct credit risk assessments and review loan portfolios.

Monitor asset quality and early warning signals on delinquent accounts.

Identify operational, compliance, and market risks.

Ensure compliance with CBN risk management guidelines for MFBs.

Conduct risk assessments on new products, processes, and branches.

Prepare periodic risk reports for Management and Board committees.

Collaborate with Credit, Operations, and Internal Control units to mitigate risks.

Track risk incidents, losses, and near-miss events.

Recommend risk mitigation strategies and controls.

Requirements

HND (Upper Credit) or B.Sc (Minimum 2:2)

MBA or MSc (Added advantage)

ACIB or CILRM (Added advantage)

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Microfinance Bank experience is compulsory

Strong exposure to credit risk and loan portfolio management
