Twenty prospective NYSC members from Oyo State have reportedly been abducted while travelling from Ibadan to their orientation camps in Abia and Akwa Ibom. The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of young Nigerians travelling long distances for national service.

Beyond the immediate security concerns, the incident has sparked another important question:

Should NYSC stop posting corps members to states that require them to travel extremely long distances from their home states?

Would keeping corps members closer to home make the scheme safer, or would it defeat the purpose of national integration?

What do you think?
