My PPA looked normal on the first day, so I was excited. I thought, “At least I’ll gain some experience here.”

By the second week, I had become the receptionist, cleaner, messenger, typist and official errand person.

One morning, I got to the office early and before I could even drop my bag, my supervisor said, “Corper, please help me do something.”

That “something” turned into five different tasks.

The funniest part was that whenever I complained about the workload, they would say, “You are serving your country.” 😭

Meanwhile, my transport fare was almost eating up my allawee.

I spent the whole service year counting down to POP.

Looking back now, I can laugh about it, but during those days, I genuinely wondered what crime I committed.😂
