“The Place I Came to Serve, but Left with a Heart Full of Memories” ❤️🇳🇬

When I received my PPA posting, I didn’t know what to expect. Honestly, I was more concerned about completing my service year than making memories. I thought it would simply be a place I would go every day, do my work, count the months, and eventually leave.

I was wrong.

From the very first day, I met people who slowly turned from strangers into familiar faces, and then into people who became a beautiful part of my NYSC journey. What started as an assignment gradually became a place where I felt accepted, appreciated, and valued.

There were good days and difficult days. There were moments I was tired, frustrated, or wished the service year would just end. But somehow, there was always someone who made the day better—a kind word, a simple smile, a joke, or just the comfort of knowing I wasn’t alone.

My PPA taught me lessons that no classroom could have taught me. It taught me patience, responsibility, humility, teamwork, and the importance of treating people with kindness. I learned that sometimes, the smallest things we do can mean the most to someone else.

And now, the end has come.

Funny enough, the same place I once counted the days to leave is now the place I wish I had more time to stay.

The thought of no longer waking up and seeing those familiar faces hurts more than I expected. The conversations, laughter, greetings, little arguments, shared moments, and everyday routines have become memories I will forever treasure.

I came here as a corps member, but I am leaving with something much greater than an NYSC clearance.

I am leaving with friendships, experiences, lessons, and memories that will remain with me long after the khaki is folded away.

To everyone who made my PPA journey beautiful, thank you. Thank you for accepting me, teaching me, correcting me, encouraging me, and making me feel like I belonged.

Some places are just places.

But some places become chapters of your life.

My PPA was one of those chapters—and even though this chapter is ending, I will always be grateful that I got to live it. 🇳🇬❤️

*NYSC may have posted me here, but life gave me a reason to remember this place forever.
