An independent Commission has found Manchester City guilty of serious Premier League financial-rule breaches covering 2009/10–2017/18. City can appeal the findings by Oct 2, while sanctions will be decided separately.
Commission found they:
1. Used 'sham' contracts to inflate revenue & cut costs by £900m+
2. Filed misstated accounts & hid true finances from auditors
3. Breached PL & UEFA spending limits "by a very substantial amount"
4. Failed to cooperate and tried to frustrate the investigation
No punishment yet, but they now face a separate sanction hearing where they could face fines, points deduction, or even more serious sporting sanctions.
The big question:
What punishment do you think would be appropriate if the verdict stands?
Drop your thoughts City fans and rivals, let's hear you!
