Chelsea delivered a roaring response to their season opener, dismantling West Ham United 5–1 at the London Stadium in their latest Premier League fixture on Friday, 22 August 2025.

Lucas Paquetá stunned the visitors with a spectacular 25-yard strike in the 6th minute, giving the Hammers the early lead and igniting the London derby.

But Chelsea quickly flipped the script:

• João Pedro nodded an equalizer from close range.

• Pedro Neto followed with a volley to put the Blues ahead.

• Enzo Fernández, set up by teenager Estêvão, made it 3–1 by halftime.

• In the second half, Chelsea showed no mercy:

• Moisés Caicedo capitalized on a goalkeeping error to extend the lead to 4–1.

• Trevoh Chalobah added the fifth with a clinical finish from a corner.

The performance marked one of Chelsea’s largest away wins over West Ham in recent memory, powered by five different goal scorers and bolstered by the emergence of Estêvão despite the last-minute blow of losing Cole Palmer to injury.

Frustration was palpable among West Ham fans many left the stadium before the final whistle as the damage mounted early.
