Wolverhampton Wanderers’ miserable start to the Premier League season continued on Saturday as they fell 3-1 at home to Leeds United, despite taking the lead inside the opening ten minutes at Molineux.

The home crowd was briefly lifted when Ladislav Krejci slotted in from close range after a fine pass from Fer Lopez in the 8th minute. Wolves looked sharp early on, but the optimism quickly faded as defensive errors crept in.

Leeds responded on 31 minutes through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who rose highest to meet Jayden Bogle’s deep cross and headed in his first goal for the club. Just eight minutes later, midfielder Anton Stach produced the moment of the match, curling a stunning 25-yard free-kick into the top corner to put the visitors ahead. Wolves’ problems worsened before the interval when Emmanuel Agbadou gifted possession to Stach, who slipped in Noah Okafor to calmly add a third.

The second half saw Wolves push forward in search of a way back, but their efforts lacked sharpness and Leeds defended with composure to protect their advantage. The defeat leaves Wolves still without a single Premier League point after five games, while Leeds climb into the top half of the table.

Leeds’ trio of scorers Calvert-Lewin, Stach, and Okafor all opened their accounts for the club in the league, underlining the growing confidence in Daniel Farke’s squad. In contrast, Wolves boss Vítor Pereira finds himself under pressure as his side struggles for both form and belief.

With another tough fixture ahead, Wolves must urgently tighten their defence to stop the slide. Leeds, meanwhile, leave Molineux buoyed by a dominant response and three well-taken goals that could signal momentum for the weeks to come.
