Sunderland snatched a dramatic 2–1 victory over Brentford at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, thanks to a stoppage-time header from Wilson Isidor.

The game began tightly, with few clear chances in the first half. Brentford thought they had the opener through Dango Ouattara, but VAR ruled it out for offside. Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs then kept his side alive in the second half, saving Kevin Schade’s penalty after Reinildo Mandava conceded the spot kick.

Brentford eventually broke through in the 77th minute when Igor Thiago powered home a header to make it 1–0. The lead, however, lasted only five minutes. Sunderland hit back through Enzo Le Fée, who calmly converted a penalty after Habib Diarra was fouled in the box.

The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time. Granit Xhaka’s precise cross found substitute Isidor, who rose highest to head home in the 96th minute, sending the home fans into wild celebrations.

The result gives Sunderland their second win in three Premier League matches this season, maintaining their perfect home record, while Brentford were left to rue missed chances, including the penalty and disallowed goal.
