Arsenal lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. David Raya started in goal, with a back four of Jurriën Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and Riccardo Calafiori.

In midfield, Martin Zubimendi partnered Declan Rice, providing both defensive cover and forward drive. Ahead of them, Bukayo Saka who captained the side took up his usual spot on the right wing, Leandro Trossard operated on the left, and Eberechi Eze was deployed centrally behind the striker. Leading the line was Viktor Gyökeres.

Crystal Palace set up in a 3-4-2-1 system. Dean Henderson was in goal behind a back three of Chris Richards, Maxence Lacroix, and Marc Guéhi. The wing-backs were Daniel Muñoz on the right and Tyrick Mitchell on the left.
