Old Trafford Thriller: United Survive Chelsea Scare After Early Red Drama

Manchester United secured a vital 2–1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford in a dramatic Premier League clash on Saturday.

The game burst into life early when Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was sent off in the 5th minute for a reckless foul on Bryan Mbeumo outside the box. United quickly took advantage of the extra man, and Bruno Fernandes struck in the 14th minute with a well-taken volley, marking his 100th goal for the club in the league.

United doubled their lead before halftime when Casemiro rose highest to head home in the 37th minute. However, the Brazilian’s evening was cut short as he picked up a second yellow card just before the break, leaving both sides with ten men for the second half.

Chelsea grew stronger after the interval and dominated possession, searching for a way back into the contest. Their persistence paid off when Trevoh Chalobah pulled one back with a header in the 80th minute, setting up a tense finish. Despite late pressure, United’s defence held firm to claim all three points.

The victory lifts Manchester United into the top half of the table and eases pressure on the team after a slow start to the season. For Chelsea, the early red card proved costly, and despite their fightback, they left Old Trafford empty-handed.
