SUNDERLAND are in discussions with West Ham United over a potential loan move for Simon Adingra.

But Wilson Isidor won't be joining the Hammers this summer, with the Black Cats making it clear the striker is not for sale.

Isidor is a key part of Regis Le Bris' plans for the coming season and Sunderland have no intention of allowing the frontman to move on.

It might well be decided, however, that Adingra is better served continuing his development elsewhere. The winger only joined Sunderland a year ago and played a prominent role in the early stages of last season.

But he lost his place in the side, despite the fact Sunderland weren't particularly well stocked in the wide areas, and was allowed to join Monaco on loan in January.

The Ligue 1 side opted against making the deal permanent at the end of the season and Adingra linked up with Sunderland at the start of pre-season. He was part of the squad for last week's trip to the United States.

But with the Black Cats having strengthened on the flanks in January with the signings of Nilson Angulo and Jocelin Ta Bi and with the capture of another wide player a priority this summer, opportunities are likely to be hard to come by for Adingra.

As first reported by Sky Sports, West Ham have approached Sunderland and are keen to take Adingra on loan. Those discussions are ongoing. West Ham have identified Adingra as a leading target and want to try and finalise a deal before the start of the Championship season, with Nuno Espirito Santo looking to lead the Hammers back to the top flight at the first time of asking.

West Ham were also strongly linked with a move for Isidor, who is also understood to have been of interest to other clubs this summer, but Sunderland are determined to keep hold of the 25-year-old.

Isidor found opportunities hard to come by in the second half of last season, with his last league start for the Black Cats coming last December. Brian Brobbey established himself as Sunderland's first choice striker and that will continue to be the case at the start of the coming campaign.

But with Eliezer Mayenda having moved on this summer and with Sunderland planning for a Europa League campaign as well as their domestic commitments, Isidor has been told he'll have a key role to play.

The striker featured in the World Cup for Haiti but linked back up with Sunderland ahead of the trip to the United States.
