While I was doing my IT at a bank, a woman walked in one day to deposit ₦1.4 million.
She handed the money to a teller she trusted to count and process the deposit. After counting it, the teller told her, “Madam, this is ₦1.3 million.”
She was shocked.
She had counted the money carefully before coming to the bank and was certain she brought ₦1.4 million. She argued with the teller, insisting that ₦100,000 was missing.
The matter got serious, so the Customer Service Manager stepped in and decided to check the CCTV.
What they saw shocked everyone.
The teller had secretly removed one bundle of money and hidden it under his desk.
He was confronted with the footage, and the truth came out. The next day, he was fired.
The craziest part? The woman was one of his closest customers. She trusted him so much that she would only use his counter whenever she came to the bank.
He probably thought she wouldn't make a big issue out of it because of their relationship.
But in the end, the same customer he thought would protect him was the one whose ₦100,000 exposed him.
