Role Overview

As a Business Developer– Community Strategist at OurPalaver.com, you’ll play a pivotal role in nurturing and expanding our forum community. You’ll be hands‑on in content creation, community interaction, and collaborating closely with our Marketing Manager to drive visibility and bring new users into the forum ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Community Content & Posting

• Develop and post high‑value discussion prompts, replies, and educational content within our forum.

• Identify trending topics, community needs, and opportunities to spark meaningful dialogue.

• Curate and repurpose user-generated content into marketing assets (e.g., blog highlights, newsletters).

Growth & Marketing Collaboration

• Partner with the Marketing Manager to plan and coordinate campaigns aimed at boosting forum visibility across SEO, email, social, and content partnerships.

• Support cross-channel marketing efforts by amplifying forum highlights, success stories, and user testimonials.

• Assist in tracking performance of campaigns tied to forum engagement and user acquisition.

New User Acquisition

• Proactively engage with external online communities, groups, or influencers to attract new members to OurPalaver forums.

• Design or support referral campaigns, welcome initiatives, or ambassador programs to incentivize new sign‑ups and retention.

Analytics & Optimization

• Monitor forum activity—post frequency, engagement rates, new user growth—and provide regular insights.

• Recommend tweaks to posting cadence, topics, or entry points to optimize engagement and onboarding flow.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience (1–3 years) in community engagement or specialist roles focused on forums, social channels, or digital platforms.

• Strong understanding of community strategy and performance metrics: engagement, growth, retention, conversion.

• Excellent written communication: ability to craft compelling prompts, thoughtful replies, and various forms of written content (short‑form, how‑to, longer posts).

• Comfortable taking initiative to experiment with posting styles and formats, iterating based on results.

• Collaboration‑oriented mindset: experience working alongside marketing, content, or product teams.

• Basic analytic skills and familiarity with tracking engagement via Google Analytics or similar tools.

• Enthusiastic about helping grow a vibrant, inclusive online community with business and strategic impact.

Nice to Have

• Experience with online forums or community platforms (e.g., Reddit, Nairaland similar).

• Previous involvement in referral, ambassador, or influencer‑driven user acquisition campaigns.

• Familiarity with email campaigns or newsletter coordination linked to forum activity.
