The Federal Government has commenced the development of the Nigeria Education Data Initiative (NEDI), the country’s first nationwide cloud-based Education Management Information System.

NEDI is designed to track critical student data; including attendance, academic performance and health records to support evidence-based policymaking and educational planning.

Officials say the system will be especially vital in reaching conflict-affected and underserved communities, ensuring no child is left behind in the nation’s education reforms.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to digitalize Nigeria’s education infrastructure and strengthen accountability, access, and equity across all levels of learning.
