The current Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives is Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. He was elected on June 13, 2023, as the Speaker of the 10th National Assembly, succeeding Femi Gbajabiamila.

Born on October 1, 1965, in Zaria, Kaduna State, Abbas holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and has a background in teaching, lecturing and private sector management.

He represents Zaria Federal Constituency and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Before becoming Speaker, he chaired several key House committees and was known for his active legislative record.

Since assuming office, Abbas has promoted inclusive leadership, transparency and legislative reform across the House.
