Teacher unions ASUU and CONUA have rejected the government’s proposed loan schemes, insisting on sustainable salary and welfare reforms.

“Loans aren’t solutions,” ASUU stated. “We need lasting improvements in pay and working conditions, not temporary credit fixes.”

The unions say without real investment in teacher welfare, the education system will continue to suffer.
