Lagos Government Moves To End LASU Staff Strike

The Lagos State Government has stepped in to address the ongoing strike at Lagos State University (LASU) involving both academic and non-academic staff. The industrial action, which has disrupted academic and administrative activities on campus, was triggered by unresolved grievances over welfare and working conditions.

In a bid to restore normalcy, the state government has called on all stakeholders to embrace dialogue and seek a peaceful resolution. According to officials, the government is committed to engaging with representatives of the striking unions to find common ground and ensure that students’ academic progress is not further hindered.

The intervention comes amid growing concerns from parents and students over the prolonged disruption, with many urging a swift end to the impasse. The state reiterated its dedication to maintaining harmony within the university system and ensuring that LASU continues to uphold its reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading institutions of higher learning.
