Lena locked herself out again. Third time this year.
She rang the downstairs neighbor, Mr. Alvarez, who always kept her spare key on a hook by his fridge. He opened the door in slippers, handed it over without a word, and went back to his crossword.
Later, Lena bought a little magnetic box and hid a key under the stairwell. She told Mr. Alvarez where it was, just in case.
He nodded. “Good. Now you have a backup for your backup.”
That night she came home tired, fumbled in her bag, and realized she’d forgotten her keys at work. She didn’t panic. She walked to the stairwell, found the box, and let herself in.
Some problems don’t need fixing. They just need a plan you can reach.
