I hope you find comfort in these words. There’s so much you didn’t understand about yourself back then, so let me whisper it to you now.
You are to shout, run, play, make mistakes, and learn. You were a child never meant to be perfect. Your mind was brilliant. Your light was undeniable. It was okay to shine brighter than your peers, and you never needed to dim yourself to make others comfortable.
Deserving of queenly care, you were tender, yet emotions clouded your thoughts. You didn’t have to let the opinions of others shape your identity or your dreams. You were capable of far more than you ever showed.
Look at your hands now, crafting stories that breathe hope, writing words that heal, inspire, and awaken. Life taught you how to value yourself, how to stand tall, and how to honour your own voice.
Finding joy in solitude, you learned to embrace letting go. You learned how to protect the beauty of peace and how to control what enters and what stays out of your mind. You learned the power of guarding your time and your energy.
You were never a burden. You are not to swallow pain until it burns you to ashes.
You are to laugh freely. Cry when you needed to. Smile without hesitation. Dance to Grandpa’s old radio with all the freedom in your little heart.
You were not the reason bad things happened. You were not the reason people left. Their departure was a choice—their choice—not a reflection of your worth.
It wasn’t your stubbornness that pushed them away. It was your brilliance, your bright, quiet, harmless fire. A fire that gave warmth, not destruction. But the possibilities within you intimidated them by the greatness you carried even in silence.
They tried to shrink you because they were blind to your softness, unable to see that you were never a threat. You were a blessing.
Today, your stories no longer hide in notebooks. The world reads them now. They read you now.
You’ve grown from stories to poems, from poems to powerful expressions shaping hearts and minds. Your voice is growing, stretching, becoming global.
And I hope these words bring you closure, because you have become everything your younger self once needed.
