The Scale’s Tip
The Goddess of Justice grew tired of the bronze scales. One night, she stepped off her pedestal and tossed the weights into the sea. "From now on," she whispered to the startled night watchman, "we judge by the weight of the heart’s intent, not the gold in the hand." By morning, the city’s prisons were empty, and the palaces were full of inmates.
