EMBERS OF THE UNSPOKEN (PROLOGUE)
Like a winter breeze, chilling and penetrating everything it touches even after a long while , that was how Mira pain was, penetrating every nook of her body as she watch from her afar as the terror unfold in front of her, she tried to scream but no amount of mouth opening was effective.
Her leg gave in to immerse sorrow, and fell flat on her butt on the cold ground. Her limbs felt impossibly heavy, as if the world itself were pressing down on her. Every breath, funny enough if it could still be called breathing—trembled out of her.
A long distance from her, she saw the terrifying fire which was burning prefusely, the heat radiating towards her. what was once her body, was now nothing but sharkles of what it was before.
She watch the calprit of this heartlessness, people she once trusted with her life turn to monsters before her eyes.
Sterling.
Venessa.
Her husband and her best friend.
They stood there watching, not feeling any guilt, as they burn the body ablaze.
At that moment, another feeling emanated, her chest ached with a pressure worse than any pain she'd ever know, the feeling of betrayal. The pain was enormous, she couldn't breathe properly, tears kept coming down from my face uncontrollably
."why?"
Her mind kept repeating that word over and over, was the love she gave won't enough. All she had left was the crushing stillness of watching everything she had been, everything she thought she could trust, fall apart in front of her.
Then she saw their departing figure, as they walk towards their car and drove away into the night, thinking they've successful buried their secret deep inside the night, away from the world, deep inside the think forest.
After what seems like eternity, Mira regain strength inside her legs, she stood up and was burning with rage, anger and taste for revenge. She turned and face the two people beside her, who have watched with shock as the event unfound Infront of them.
" I must go back." She declared
