Chapter 2: The Lapse
Nike couldn't explain what came over her, but Tayo's presence was like a spell. She found herself sneaking out of church gatherings and Bible study to meet him. The rush of adrenaline was addictive, and she felt like she was living on the edge. Tayo's world was a far cry from her sheltered life, and Nike was eager to explore.
Their secret meetings became more frequent, and Nike's relationship with her family began to frown. Her mother, Pastor Ade, and even her best friend, Joy, noticed the change in her. Nike brushed them off, saying she was just finding herself.
One night, Tayo took Nike to a beach party, and the atmosphere was electric. The music, the laughter, and the freedom were intoxicating. Tayo's hands on her skin sent shivers down her spine. In the heat of the moment, Nike gave in. She let Tayo take her to his car, and they lost themselves in the passion of the night.
As the sun peeked over the horizon, Nike woke up to reality. Panic set in, and she realized what she'd done. She pushed Tayo away, but he just smiled and said, "What's wrong, babe? We love each other.
Nike didn't know what love was anymore. She felt dirty, used, and confused. She knew she needed to get out, but Tayo's grip was tight.
