The moon forgot its script

The moon escaped the sky

convinced it roamed

Leaping like a frog where light

had never shone

It asked no why, no how, ignored the signs

Believed the fall was freedom, not design

It lost itself, grew small within the dip

A fading thought, a torn and broken slip

Baseless, fading wobbing into the sand

Unaware, it weakened in its wandering hand

It wasted slowly chasing borrowed glow

Mistaking drift for power it should know

If only part of it still touched the ground

Perhaps its mind would frame a clearer sound

Then sense might mirror sight into the blind

Unseal the eyes, awake the drifting mind

And tame the lust that trembled deep inside

A script remembered, not denied
