Natural science
The Twisted Twig
Woven and curly like tender braids,
Sprung from a single stalk,
Split into slender wands
It dribbles and sways across wandering branches
To ease the slender stems of their burden,
It clasps the nodes that bears the leaves,
Holding cool little creatures in shade
While cradling swelling belly of fruits
Still it rises and gently yields,
Standing firm as fruits wrestle with weather
Guarded through seasons of waiting
Until harvest comes crowned with victory.
