It breaks into light to preserve existence

With deliberate force, it burst forth
Claiming purpose without a voice
A cyst of ages held in waiting
Revived from a hidden guarded place

From the belly of a generous bearer
It shrinks, it burns, it yields,
so new life may rise
To thrive, to grow, to rule its season
