Grief has a shadow
Walking through the darkest moment of my life
I'm sinking into the sand of my own pain
Trembling, shouting inwardly,
dismantled by sickness
Faith shrank
The mind tightened it's grip
I tried to hold myself together
But the pain climbed the bridge of my soul
and stood there unmoved
I learned to beg in silence,
inside the hollow of a fractured heart
Time kept moving
While the sickness stood firm
Like a pillar I couldn't push past
Then a moment came
relief, sharp and sudden
piercing the sorrow, opening a small space
Where pain could finally pill away
The mind found its momentum again
The body remembered itself
Its weight, its rhythm,its warmth
And slowly every line began to fall back into its place
